The Bubble Session

I recently picked up my camera again. For as long as I can remember I’ve always loved photography, I love taking pictures, browsing random galleries, and even admiring beautiful Instagram feeds. I took some classes in college, but the hobby got put aside, I’ve tried to pursue it a few other times in the past but it just hasn’t stuck.

That all changed with the rapidly growing little boy I have. I realized that I wanted to have more than just an instagram feed to look back on, but I really want to create images that will be looked at for many lifetimes. Something to remember the longest shortest days. A way to savor those sweet, and not so sweet moments, just a little bit longer. I don’t know what it is about becoming a parent that seems to make the days, months, and even years go by that much quicker.

That face right there is why I decided to pick the camera back up again. He has changed so much in such a short time. I love watching his face light up, listening to his silly noises, and my heart flutters a little with each little giggle. I hope I never forget these moments.

Our First Family Photo Shoot

Another first for us….

About a month ago, or so, my sweet friend Chloe came by and did our first family photo shoot. I love each and every one of them. Thank you Chloe!! XO!!

Conor was about 5 months. He is now almost 7 months! Getting him to lay on his back, stay still and take a picture, is now near impossible. He has mastered the army crawl and is all over the place, and into all the things at his level.

He’s now sitting up on his own too, and eating real food! It’s been quite and adventure, and we love introducing him to new foods. We are doing a sort of modified baby led weaning approach. Seems to be working for us, I’ll post more on that another time.

He’s always been pretty good at bearing weight on his feet. I know walking is right around the corner. I am already eyeing everything in the house that will need to be moved to higher ground!

He is just the sweetest guy. His face just lights up when he sees either of us. He doesn’t fuss too much unless he’s hungry, tired, or in need of a diaper change. He is super social and friendly, and has yet to meet a stranger. A quality I hope he keeps.

His other favorite obsession is the dog. He loves Carmella, and she frequently sneaks in for a kiss. She is also loving this eating thing and has found a nice little spot under his high chair.

As cliche as it sounds, I am truly blessed! I am so grateful to God for bringing both of these boys into my life.

Sometimes the days are short, and the nights are long. I truly understand the meaning of the longest shortest time now. Some days we don’t get enough sleep, or enough housework done. I still wear my maternity jeans, and workouts get skipped. One of us always has spit up on our shirt, and the laundry seems never ending.

Everyday though, we smile and laugh. Everyday we fill our bellies, and our hearts. We always have bedtime stories, cuddles, kisses, and I love yous to end our days with, and always wake up with a smile. We have each other, we have God, we have family. Most of all, we have LOVE: the greatest of all things.
